The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) released its selections for the first Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
Clayton
State Freshman mid-distance runner Sancho Smith was awarded the
conference's Track Athlete of the Week, this is the first such honor for
Smith.
Smith, who got off to an impressive start to his
Clayton State career in the indoor season, transferred his success to
the outdoor season winning the 800-meter run in the first two meets of
the season.
The Clayton freshman clocked a time of 1:57.28 at
the Savannah State Eye Opener on February 25th. This past weekend, at
the Clark Atlanta Panther Invitational, Smith finished with a final time
of 1:55.88. Currently, Smith is third in the PBC in the 800m run.
