UMBC Junior Caitlyn Bobb captured a
trifecta of Gold Medals on the second day of the America East
Conference Championship competition, taking home the 200-meter and
400-meter Titles and anchoring the 4x400 Meter Relay Championship
quartet, she also broke 2 Bermuda Indoor Records, one of them a 44-year-old record.
Bobb
duplicated her 2022 feat when she captured both the 200 and 400.
In the
shorter race, she crossed the line in 23.95, dropping under the
24.0-second mark for the first time in her career and ending up just
0.14 seconds shy of a school record, Bobb would break a record that has
stood for 44 years, Debbie Jones's held the record time of 24.23 set
back in February 1980.
In the 400m, Bobb posted a winning time of 53.92 breaking her own record time of 54.08 set earlier this month.
Sophomores
Leanne McDonald and Shannel Sibblies combined with Freshman Genelle
Stephens and Bobb to set the 1600 Meter Relay School Record with a time
of 3:44.96 and a Gold Medal to bring home to Baltimore.
