Bermuda Carifta Games Update 2023

Bermuda National Athletics Association President Dr. Freddie Evans reflected on Day Two of the 50th Carifta Games going on in the Bahamas.

Evans stated, "Trust the process!

To those who are on the outside of our track and field environment, today may have appeared as a disappointing day but that is far from the truth.

Bermuda has the youngest team in the Games.

The athletes ran hard and represented the country well!

Bermuda's 4x100 Boys just missed the finals, Elise Dickinson demonstrated toughness and tenacity.

Pria Wilson, Lashee Jones, and Arima Turner are future stars!!

Sancho Smith looked like the veteran leader that he is, Fenella Wightman and Jaeda Grant were in an Open Division ( where they can compete for 4 more years) ran strong!

Bermuda's 4x100 Girls narrowly missed a medal, placing 4th in the finals.

Cameron Adkins making his debut and I know he will be back with a strong showing, Azari Jones, Amaris Munya, Simeon Hayward and Seer Carey being pressed into service because of teammates injuries never gave up and despite finishing 7th set a new Junior National record.

All athletes mentioned and unmentioned preformed and represented well!

But the day belongs to Superman aka Jauza James, after 7 events, hobbled by an injury obtained in the High Jump, James  battled through the 1500m to gain enough points to place 3rd!

Remarkable!

Well done Bermuda

Let's finish strong!!!

And remember trust the process!!!"
